I did a little research on associations in myth and folklore of associations between numbers, colors, objects, and things people often want to achieve. Taking from what I read, I wrote a few recitations which I gave to guests of my last art show. Here they are, just for fun.

A few magical recitations…

AMBITION
The sun
my heart
are singular
and hot.
I have courage
in deed
and in thought.

HARMONY
Two things green
on a Monday afternoon
Love for the rise and fall
of our full moon.
Bind spirit and flesh
emotion in harmony
in this home love
for the great mystery.

DISCIPLINE
A deep breath, a candle
a blade of grass and stone.
The four corners of heaven meet
and I am not alone.
The elemental spirits
on four great horses ride.
I have the will and discipline
to navigate the tide.

LEARNING
The words of the senses
The nimble mind
dances across stars, Mercury, fields
of humanity, forever learning.
Learning, learning
wisdom strengthening and burning.
On and on my mind dances
across the world’s quick turning.

BALANCE
The spirit and the physical
worlds here between my hands,
my head and my heart.
The beauty and the soul
balance here between
perfection and art.

CREATIVITY
Look up
to fire and light and heavenly powers.
A trinity
of wisdom and love and truth
in old age and youth
of intellect and body and heart
in all my work and art
of creativity and joy and expansion
in fine reason and raw passion.

ORDER
Seven days and seven graces
Seven notes and wondrous places
From flesh and bone, my spirits soar
My third eye sees enough and more.
With seven breaths and hands to chest
I know what’s right and what’s my best.

ABUNDANCE
Infinity and regeneration
an hourglass
where all must pass.
Social justice and divine law
the scales bestow
As above, so below.

INNER WISDOM
Let nine bright rose petals fall
and the nine orders of angels call.
Clear things away. Spend time alone.
My truth is what I own.
Light nine candle flames.
List nine lifetime aims.
They say nine rivers flow through hell.
Remember my spirit can swim them well.

ACCOMPLISHMENT
The wheel turns.
I rise and fall
in love and light.
From which all things come
they must return
whether hidden or in sight.
I am the pillar and the circle
within what is wrong
and what is right.
