Wahoo! I’ve registered once again for NaNoWrimo, and so should you.

What do I love about NaNoWriMo? That it frees me from doubt for one month of my life. Oh, I’ve got other doubts still clinging ravenously to my brain and soul, but NaNo vanquishes the doubt of plot–the is my character doing the right thing? Is my book meaningful? Is it working? Hey, who cares? All I need to do is hit the word count and I am “good” and “rewarded”.

Some people wonder what is the point of writing a novel that is mostly a disaster–the point is the other eleven months of the year when I can put it all together (or try to anyway). I love the rush of flinging my characters in front of me and wondering where they will land. NaNo makes writing fun, which is what it ought to be.

So, for November 2007, here goes Mercie…where will she be come December? I have no idea, but finding out will be like Christmas come early!
