I’m enjoying my obsession with words–quantity that is.
The idea of acceptance and peaceful existence must be able to fit in somewhere with challenges, or not? I suppose I’ve got to read this book I’ve been “blessed’ with to figure that one out. (I’ve put blessed in quotation marks even though I don’t really think things such as books are given to us by anypower on high–I like the word and can’t think of another one at the moment.)
My first NaNo was a challenge in and of itself and when I reached 50, 100 words I stopped. The next NaNo I challenged myself to reach 80,000. I think I made it to about 85,000. And last year’s NaNo I decided to try for 100,000–and I did it, but I must have wiped out several brain cells to get there. So, this year’s challenge? Not 100K again. No. But this time some (just some) balance. Anything over 50 will be fine, but to also keep posting on all three blogs, keep up with my classes, and make a piece or two of art. (All while my son is sleeping or playing with friends.)
Anyone else out there have their own NaNoWriMo challenge beyond 50K?
Any thoughts out there on why for some of us, focusing on a number is liberating?
