This post is to acknowledge that lakebelle exists in my imagination and in cyberspace but on no real world map. The three characters come from novels–novels by me. Paul survived being seventeen and in love in The Blue Jar. Linnie did her best to save the doomed heroine in Drowning Karma. Mercie’s story has yet to be told in Sunlight and Mercie. Many of the Sunlight Grocery’s customers appear in these novels too, at different ages and with surprising pasts. All of them are worth giving voice to, and that is what the lakebelle blog is all about. You can help these characters (and me) out by taking time to listen. Thanks.
