I didn’t know that much about Ann Richards while she was governor of Texas. I’m not from Texas, after all. I learned about her from my husband. When I met my husband-to-be, he had a picture of himself standing with Ann, a picture we still have and display.

She was a strong leader with a great sense of humor. For a local theater chain she participated in a PSA playing off her reputation. She might, in fact, remind me a bit more of Professor McGonagall than Hermione. Maybe because Hermione would be more likely to scold you and roll her eyes at you for using your phone during class while McGonagall would simply toss you out.

She was a great lady and she is missed.
