Witches!

‘Tis my favorite month of the year!

I say that even though I dislike horror and being scared.

To welcome in the season, here are a few witchy things I’ve listened to or watched over the last year or two. Take as you will!

First, a video about the Wicked Witch of the West, who is, for me the First Witch.

Here is an interesting video about witchcraft, gender, and Marxism. It definitely brought up and mixed together things I hadn’t considered before. Still not sure what I think about it, but it is an interesting conversation.

This podcast from the BBC Scotland is excellent. I highly recommend for learning more about your witch hunt history.

Witch Hunt BBC

This long series from Aaron Mahnke goes deep into the history of the Salem witch trials. A must listen to.

Season 1 | Unobscured: The Salem Witch Trials

This is not a history. This is Pam Grossman’s The Witch Wave podcast. If you think witchcraft is tosh, this is not for you. But if you’re curious about witches creating and working today, tune in.

It’s hard to talk about witches and not talk about the most popular witches of our time. This podcast looks into JK Rowling’s wizarding world, for better or worse.

Imaginary Worlds: Dumbledore’s Army (Updated)

Another real history podcast is a conversation with historian Dr. Suzannah Lipscomb on Chalk Valley History. (Lipscomb has an interesting series on the dangers of the Victorian home. I recommend that too.)

Is that it? Hmmm.

For now!

Happy October!
