
Have you heard of Admiral Grace Hopper? I hadn’t until a few months back when a friend mentioned her. It’s a shame because she seems quite remarkable.
She was smart, of course. She standardized computer languages and she went on to encourage young people to learn computer programing. She became an rear admiral! She worked hard and aimed high. She studied at Yale and earned a Ph.D. Very Hermione indeed. Admiral Grace Hopper sounds like a remarkable woman. I’m glad I learned about her.
I believe she was the one who coined the “bug in the system” when she pulled a dead moth out of one of the huge old computers in the 1940s.
